David is a life-long resident of La Crosse. Following his graduation from Aquinas High School, he attended the University of Notre Dame on a full-track scholarship and graduating Magna Cum Laude. He attended the University of Wisconsin Law School from 1971-1974. Following his graduation from law school, he became an associate in the firm of Weigel & Stickler. As a new attorney he participated in a general practice, but over time, and due to the expertise of the other attorneys in the firm, he moved into the areas of estate planning, business law, and real estate. For the bulk of his career David has practiced exclusively in these three areas, with a special emphasis on estate planning.
For over 30 years, David has been rated AV by Martindale Hubbell, a national encyclopedia of all practicing attorneys in the United States. This is the highest rating an attorney can achieve as evidence of both superior knowledge of the law and ethical integrity. The ratings in Martindale Hubbell are provided by attorney peers.
David has been married to Susan M. Des Rosiers for 55 years. They have two daughters, M. Mercedes (Rockville, MD) and Simone E. (Berkeley, CA), and two grandsons, John and Oliver.
